Falls prevention

Nowadays the life expectancy has been significantly increased alongside with the injuries in older adults due to falls. Recent research evidence shows that 1 in 3 people over 65, may have one or more falls annually which can result in serious injuries such as fractures.

  

Physiotherapy can help in falls prevention with specialised exercise programmes either in groups or in individuals. At Physiotime we perform special tests that can identify the risk of fall and then design individualised strengthening and balance exercise protocols to improve the levels of activity of the older adults. We also provide advice for a safe home environment, like use of walking aids.
