Custom-made orthotics look like insoles, are placed in an individual’s footwear and acting as corrective devices in order to optimise lower limb alignment during gait. Optimising the alignment, helps to minimize shock absorption through the lower extremity, pelvis and spine, reducing strain on the body and the risk of injury. The main aim of orthotics is to maintain the ‘optimal functional position’ of the foot, and are made specifically for one person’s feet.

For a hollistic treatment approach with long-term results, we also provide footwear screening and prescribe appropriate exercise programmes to improve strengthening of the weak muscles in the lower limbs.  In addition to that, we offer advises for patient’s daily activities and re-train/correct their techniques of any sport activity.

Some of the pathologies that custom-made orthotics may be useful are:

  • Metatarsalgia

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Morton’s Neuroma

  • Ankle spur- heel pain

  • Achilles tendinitis/tendinopathy

  • Chronic ankle sprains

  • Flat feet, high arches

  • Leg length discrepancy

  • Stress fractures

  • Hallux valgus
